ATTENTION EMPLOYER AND JOB SEEKER CUSTOMERS

Here's Your Opportunity to Help Shape Your Local Workforce System

Kansas WorkforceONE, your Local Workforce Development Board, is responsible for the development, implementation, and oversite of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) which was recently signed into law replacing the Workforce Investment Act. Federally funded employment and training programs including KANSASWORKS center programs, Vocational Rehabilitation programs, and Adult Education programs are authorized in WIOA. On behalf of the Kansas WorkforceONE Board we invite you and your local businesses to assist us in transforming the public workforce system in Western Kansas.

In order to achieve an employer-driven system in a 62-county region, we depend on the ongoing partnerships with area businesses and training institutions. Our workforce system must understand the needs for skilled workers and provide job seekers with access to quality education, skills training, and jobs. To build these "quality supplier/purchasing-agent" relationships the local workforce system must understand the needs of business and work with employers to solve workforce problems. We seek to design solutions that increase the "bottom line." Our first step in this process is to survey and listen to our customers which includes economic development entities, businesses of all sizes, and job seeker customers.

We have two ways to get involved in this process:

EMPLOYER CUSTOMERS

Employer Customer Survey:  English | Español -- This survey allows you to provide input that will be used to develop our strategic plan for Western Kansas.

Employer Listen Tour Events: Download Planning Event Schedule  -- During these events we will be listening to businesses' ideas and suggestions on how we can better serve.

JOB SEEKER CUSTOMERS

Job Seeker Customer Survey:  English | Español  -- This survey allows you to provide input that will be used to develop our strategic plan for Western Kansas.

Customer Focus Group Events: Download Planning Event Schedule  -- During these events we will be listening to ideas and suggestions on how we can better serve.

Local Area I is comprised of 62 counties located in central and western Kansas.

As required by the Workforce Investment Act (WIA), the membership of the LWIB consists of representatives from business, education, rehabilitation services, public assistance agencies and public employment services.

Members of the LWIB represent organizations, agencies, or other entities and in compliance with the WIA, at least 51 percent of its members are from private businesses.
